According to the top manager, the new innovative engine will provide 50 to 100 restarts of the first stage of the rocket. He added that work on the new missile is progressing “at a good pace”.
Note that the most advanced reusable rocket model to date is the Falcon 9 from Space X. The first stage can only be used up to 10 times. Thus, Roskosmos plans to surpass this success.
The development of Amur-LNG began in 2020. The first stage should be a two-stage rocket powered by oxygen and methane, using RD-0169 engines. Also, next year Roskosmos plans to continue work on a superheavy rocket for lunar missions.
