Russian IT companies are asking the Ministry of Digital Development to simplify the procedure for hiring foreign specialists. This is necessary to address the problem of staff shortages.
The companies are now discussing with the department the possibility of paying out-of-pocket for the relocation of IT specialists to Russia, Kommersant learns.
Experts doubt the effectiveness of these measures. They believe that Russian companies will not be able to meet the salary expectations of foreigners.
The Ministry of Digital Development also noted that the industry has enough existing leniencies: for foreign specialists, there is a simplified procedure for obtaining a residence and employment permit within the country.
- In March 2023, it became easier for foreign IT specialists and their families to obtain a residence permit in Russia. Specialists will be able to enter into employment or civil law contracts with accredited IT companies without a work permit.
- Earlier, Anton Basharin, CTO, Head of DevSecOps Swordfish Security platform development, told RB.RU which IT specialists are most in demand now and how small and medium-sized businesses can attract professionals in conditions of limited resources.
