State Duma deputy Alexander Khinshtein proposed to introduce a federal moratorium on the launch of any drones: air, ground, water and others. The only exception will be launches of unmanned vehicles for government purposes.
Alexander Khinshtein, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technology and Communications, turned to the Ministry of Transport and the Federal Air Transport Agency with a proposal to introduce a moratorium on the launch of unmanned vehicles in all Russia. The deputy wrote about this on his Telegram channel.
Khinshtein’s proposal concerns the introduction of a ban on the launch of any drone: air, ground, underground, water, surface.
“We still do not have legislation that fully regulates them. [беспилотников] request”, stressed the deputy.
On May 3, a ban on the launch of UAVs was introduced in several regions of Russia, in particular in Moscow, St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region. This was preceded by an incident with a drone strike on the Moscow Kremlin.
About a month ago, a bill was submitted to the State Duma giving law enforcement the right to shoot down drones.
