Sources of “Kommersant” assembly, mass production of which will begin in 2024. The plant has technical capabilities.

A specialized chip for SIM cards based on one of the platforms has already been presented for mass production, and operators are testing the software. The chip will be produced on topological standards of 180 nm and 90 nm.

At the same time, the interlocutor of Kommersant, close to the government, clarified that the annual need for operators is 70-100 million SIM cards, and Micron, even with the possibility of full production, no more than 20 million pieces.

The operators themselves are still wary of the implementation of the SIM card project with Russian cryptography.
