The questionable line read: “I don’t know exactly what this is. Should we say we’re going to delete the information or is there another way to get around this? The company quickly removed the replica after it gained attention.
Telly’s chief strategist, Dallas Lawrence, responded to this question, explaining that the questions were “taken out of context” and were part of an older version of the privacy policy. He explained that these are technical issues with the timing and feasibility of having such data. Lawrence emphasized that the correct and final version of the privacy policy is available on the Telly website.
Founded by Ilya Pozin, co-founder of Pluto TV, Telly offers users a free 55-inch 4K TV that constantly displays ads on an additional “smart screen” below the main screen.
The company openly acknowledges that it relies on users’ personal data to advertise on TVs, proudly stating that Telly was “the first TV brands paid for.”
