Wistron has terminated its contract with Apple and announced the sale of its iPhone plant in India to Tata Group.

Wistron management said the company has been considering this decision for a long time. The company did not see the expected profit in the small iPhone production. She was annoyed to negotiate with Apple on a high margin, but sharply deadlocked.

Wistron was the first to assemble the iPhone in India. Its production volume was lower than that of Foxconn and Pegatron.

The deal to sell the Indian factory is still pending, but Tata Group managers have already started working at the facility and getting ready to assemble the iPhone 15.

The China plant was sold by Wistron to Luxshare in 2020. [9to5Mac]
