This Tuesday (23), AMD announces new Ryzen and Athlon 7020 C-Series processor lineupIt brings better performance and modern technologies to Chromebooks.
Featuring speeds of up to 4.3 GHz, up to four cores and eight threads built on the Zen 2 architecture, these processors also feature AMD RDNA 2 integrated graphics. Designed to deliver fast and responsive performance for video conferencing, learning applications, and streaming applicationsFor example.
Designed using advanced 6nm technology, the AMD Ryzen 3 7320C processor promises up to 17 hours of battery life, while the Athlon Silver 7120C series promises up to 19.5 hours of battery life. Both focus on energy efficiency and aim for productivity on ChromeOS.
Improved performance
Compared to the previous generation, the Ryzen 3 7320C offers 1.6x higher average performance in Chromebooks than the previous generation, according to AMD. The Athlon Silver 7120C has 1.8 times higher performance “compared to competing devices”.
Among the prominent features, the company cites LPDDR5 memories, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 support. The brand also mentions that the AMD Radeon 610M integrated graphics supports up to three 4K monitors.
