Starting from this Thursday (28th), Brazilian consumers will now be able to purchase the new Motorola Edge 40 Neo in the country. In addition to interesting features such as design and camera, the mobile phone also comes with advanced intermediate hardware.

Motorola will sell the Edge 40 Neo in three colors: black (polymer), green and blue (both with vegan leather). The colors that make the company stand out follow a partnership with Pantone.

Weighing 172 grams, the device has rounded corners and, like the Motorola Edge 40 launched in Brazil in May this year, It has a comfortable and ergonomic design. The pOLED display is 6.55 inches in size and has Full HD+ resolution (2400 x 1080p) with a 144 Hz refresh rate.

This screen also carries other extras. In addition to its corners being relatively curved, it has 10-bit color reproduction and carries DCI-P3 and HDR10+ protocols. Another promise is that it can reach a peak brightness of 1,300 nits. — can reach up to 1,000 nits manually. The brand also added spatial sound and stereo sound (Dolby Atmos) to the device.

As stated by Thiago Masuchette, product manager of Motorola Brazil, the mobile phone is IP68 certified against water and dust. This was already a promise made by the company for the Edge series, and the feature is expected to be available in future versions as well.

Although Edge 40 Neo is said to compete with high-end devices, the device has advanced intermediate hardware. The mobile phone, which has 8 GB RAM with 256 GB storage combined with the MediaTek 7030 processor, has technologies such as 5G, Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 6E. An additional feature is the RAM Boost feature, which uses some of the memory.

It launches with Android 13, and Motorola guarantees two Android updates in addition to three years of security updates. Therefore, Edge 40 Neo should get up to Android 15.

As for the battery, the company is playing it safe with 5,000mAh, slightly more than the traditional Edge 40’s 4,400mAh, and includes a 68W charger in the box. Fast charging support promises 50% energy in just 15 minutes when connected to an outlet.

Faster cameras

Another feature that stands out according to Motorola is the device’s cameras. The product can shoot 4K (at 30 fps) with all sensors and has HDR video feature. The functionality promises “crisper, more vibrant colors and super-strong work on contrast,” according to Maurício Moisés, Motorola’s global product manager.

Moisés emphasizes that another development is in the night photography mode. According to the company, photo capture time in Night Sight mode is 16 times shorter compared to the Edge 30 Neo. The optimization ensures that it happens in the background without the user having to wait for the photo to be taken. Be ready when caught. These are the sensors of the Edge 40 Neo:

  • 50 MP: OIS and electronic stabilization (Instant Focus, focus on all pixels)

  • 13 MP: ultra + macro + depth (120°)

  • 32 MP: selfies (80°, f/2.45)
