Mark Gurman from Bloombergreported that Apple is working on new MacBook models that could be announced in 2023 or 2024. The journalist singled out a new generation of 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros with possible M2 Pro and M2 Max chips. It also revealed possible return of 12″ models, although without specifying whether it will be a standard version, like the one the company announced in 2015, or a Pro variant. Now twitter user Majin Bu, who usually leaks information about future Apple products, suggests that the 12-inch version of the model will indeed be the Pro variant.
Majin Boo says on twitter that the supposed 12-inch MacBook Pro should arrive in 2023 and that while the processor models are unknown, eIt will be equipped with M2 Pro and M2 Max chips. That is, the chips that would upgrade the M1 Pro and M1 Max. Thus, this more compact model will be part of the same lineup as the 14-inch and 16-inch versions, which the company may also announce next year.
So the strategy will be somewhat different from what Apple did this 2022. The company introduced the 13-inch MacBook Pro at WWDC 2022. However, this is not the same range as the current 14-inch and 16-inch models with the M1 Pro and M1 Max chip. This is because it includes the M2 chip, which is slightly inferior in performance to Apple’s Pro and Pro Max SoC versions.
The M2 Pro and M2 Max chips will ship with the 12-inch MacBook Pro.
It’s still too early to talk about the M2 Pro and M2 Max chips, but they will likely improve performance and power efficiency significantly over current models. We also don’t know what the design of the alleged 12-inch MacBook Pro might be.. This team, remember, was announced seven years ago with an ultra-thin design. On the other hand, modern MacBooks are thicker in order to have the ports that professionals need.
Majin Bu also recently reported that Apple is working on a 14.1-inch iPad Pro with a miniLED display.. Rumor that then confirmed Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultant. “iPad Pro 14.1″ is confirmed to be under development with our supply chain sources. It will have MiniLED and ProMotion. I’m not sure of the date, but it will most likely be early 2023,” the analyst tweeted.
