This makes it clear that the Tim Cook-led company picking up the pace under which it begins to offer spare parts for its most advanced devices. It is worth recalling that Apple included the iPhone 14 line in repairs on its own only in June last year. That is, 9 months after launch. As for the iPhone 15, the company decided to do this just 3 months after its introduction on the market.

For M2 Macs that are now compatible with the program, something similar is happening. From now on, users will have the opportunity to take advantage of the possibility of self-repair in MacBook Pro 14 and 16 inches, MacBook Air 15 inches, Mac Pro, Mac mini and Mac Studio.

It’s important to note that support for the aforementioned MacBook Pro is nothing new. Both models have already been part of Apple’s self-repair service since June, along with the 13-inch MacBook Air. New is the introduction of a 15-inch version unveiled at WWDC, as well as the M2 desktop Mac.

The model that is still excluded is the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Touchpad, which has already been discontinued, and those around them did not explain why. The same thing happens with the new iMacs and MacBook Pros with M3, although those will likely be added later.

Self-service Apple repair is available in many European countries

Another notable aspect of Apple’s announcement is the European expansion of its self-repair service. As we mentioned at the beginning of the article, the program has covered 24 more countries in the region.
