Six months after the official presentation at WWDC 2023, Apple announced date from which it will be possible to purchase the expected Vision Pro on various official company channels.
Apple Vision Pro pre-sale will begin on January 19 next year at 5 am (Pacific Time). It will officially hit stores in two weeks, on February 2nd.
“The era of spatial computing has arrived,” said Tim Cook, Apple CEO, in a statement. “Apple Vision Pro is the most advanced consumer electronics device ever created. Its revolutionary, magical user experience will change the way we connect, create and explore,” he continued.
Apple Vision Pro Their starting price is $3,499. and they will come with 256GB of internal storage, a battery, a USB-C cable, a power adapter, a front case, and two different bands: a Dual Loop Band and a Solo Knit Band. For now, the glasses will only be sold in the United States.
The company will simultaneously sell specialty lenses developed by ZEISS for $99 and $149, respectively, offering a complete solution for those who need glasses or contact lenses.
Apple Vision Pro represents Apple’s entry into a new product category: mixed reality, or spatial computing, as the company prefers to call this type of product. The last time this happened – if you exclude AirPods – was in 2014, when Tim Cook introduced the Apple Watch along with the iPhone 6.
Therefore, this launch has special significance for Apple. On the one hand, this is entering a new segment; On the other hand, it represents the culmination of years of development on both the hardware side (Vision Pro itself) and the software side (visionOS).
