Apple’s iPhone line remains one of its best-selling products. In 2023 we received iPhone 15which includes some of Apple’s latest and greatest technology and starts at $800.
The iPhone 15 is one of the easiest iPhone recommendations in 2024. But if you’re open to other offers, there are some great alternatives worth considering, including cheaper iPhone options and some really attractive Android phones. Here are five other phones you should consider buying instead of the iPhone 15.
iPhone 14
The iPhone 15 is Apple’s latest flagship iPhone, but it also comes with significant changes. If you don’t need all the new bells and whistles, iPhone 14 It’s still a great phone and you can save money on it.
The iPhone 14 has the same 6.1-inch Super Retina, the new Dynamic Island is no less useful in any case. If you’re in that camp, the notch is fine.
The iPhone 14 uses a slightly older A15 Bionic processor, but with iOS 17 it is still a very fast and capable processor for most people. And with up to 512GB of built-in storage, iPhone 14 handles life’s tasks with ease.
iPhone 14 has a dual camera setup: a 12 MP main camera and a 12 MP ultra-wide camera. Although Apple has significantly increased the resolution of the iPhone 15’s main camera to 48MP, the iPhone 14 still takes great photos. It also has Night and Portrait modes, a cinematic video mode, and more.
Mostly iPhone 14 Very similar to the iPhone 15. All you’re missing is a 48MP main camera, A16 Bionic chip, USB-C and Dynamic Island. But the iPhone 14 is also $100 cheaper than the base model, so if you don’t need those things, you can save some money while still maintaining a nearly identical iPhone experience.
iPhone 15 plus
If you really want the iPhone 15, you should also consider iPhone 15 plus. It has the same specs as the iPhone 15 such as 60Hz refresh rate, Dynamic Island, USB-C charging, 48MP main camera with 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens and A16 Bionic chipset. But there is still something to love.
The iPhone 15 Plus is larger than the iPhone 15 and has a 6.7-inch display instead of the 6.1-inch display on the regular iPhone 15. With a larger screen, you’ll be able to see more on the screen at once, which is great for reading and even watching videos.
But the larger size also has other benefits, such as increased battery life. Since the case is larger, a larger battery can be accommodated inside. The iPhone 15 has a battery capacity of only 3349 mAh, while the iPhone 15 Plus has a 4383 mAh battery. This means the iPhone 15 Plus can last longer on a single charge than its smaller brother. If you value not having to be connected as much, you’re better off buying the iPhone 15 Plus.
Although the iPhone 15 Plus costs $100 more than its smaller brother, the extra money will get you significant improvements. If you value a bigger screen and a bigger battery, the iPhone 15 Plus is worth your consideration.

iPhone 15 pro
One of the reasons you might be interested in the iPhone 15 is its size. After all, not everyone needs big phones, and that’s part of what makes the iPhone 15 so appealing. If this is one of your considerations, then the iPhone 15 Pro is worth adding to your list of options.
With the iPhone 15 Pro, you get the same compact 6.1-inch screen as the iPhone 15, but with a lot more bells and whistles. First, the iPhone 15 Pro features a triple camera setup with a 48MP primary camera, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 12MP telephoto lens. This is already a big improvement over the iPhone 15’s dual camera setup, so if you like photography, that alone is reason enough to consider the iPhone 15 Pro.
Another difference is the screen. iPhone 15 Pro features a Super Retina XDR OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Always On technology. A higher refresh rate means faster, smoother scrolling and animations, and the always-on display makes it easy to see information at a glance.
Apple also equipped the iPhone 15 Pro with the A17 Pro chip, which means even faster and more powerful performance. By bringing console-quality games to iPhone, the iPhone 15 Pro can handle those AAA titles much more easily.
And don’t forget the action button, which is only available on iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. This new button replaces the old Mute/Ring switch that’s still present on the iPhone 15. By default, it’s set to switch between ringer and silent mode when long pressed, but you can change it to something else, too. There are default actions such as launching the Camera app, turning on the flashlight, recording a voice note, voice translation, and more. If you have shortcut magic, the Action button can also be programmed to launch your own shortcut, so the possibilities are endless.
Do all these extra features come at a cost? Yes, the iPhone 15 Pro starts at $1,000, making it $200 more expensive than the base iPhone 15. But if you can pay the higher price, it’s worth it.

Samsung Galaxy S24
For those who aren’t completely committed to Apple’s walled garden, there are plenty of great Android alternatives to consider. One of the best is Samsung Galaxy S24.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 is priced similarly to the iPhone 15, but you get a lot more. Galaxy S24 features a 6.2-inch Dynamic LTPO AMOLED display that’s bright and rich. It even has a dynamic refresh rate of 1Hz to 120Hz, which is double that of the iPhone 15. It also reaches 2,600 nits of peak brightness, which is brighter than the 2,000 nits of the iPhone 15.
The Galaxy S24 features a triple-lens camera system: a 50MP primary camera, a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera. Again, this is better than the iPhone 15’s dual camera system, so you’ll get much better photos, especially when zoomed in. Just keep in mind that Samsung tends to make colors a little more vibrant than other brands, which may not suit everyone.
Samsung is also using the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip for Galaxy, which is optimized specifically for Galaxy devices. In practical terms, the performance is incredibly fast, and the energy efficiency is also very good: the 4,000 mAh battery lasts all day and then some.
Additionally, the Galaxy S24 comes with Samsung’s new Galaxy AI toolkit, which Apple doesn’t currently have. Galaxy AI includes useful tools such as generative photo editing, search circle, note summary, Live Translate and more.

OnePlus 12
Another great option for Android is OnePlus 12. This is a flagship phone that beats the iPhone 15 in almost every way for the same price.
With the OnePlus 12, you get an incredibly beautiful and large 6.8-inch LTPO AMOLED display that displays gorgeous, vibrant colors, crisp text, and incredibly high resolution. It also has a dynamic refresh rate of up to 120Hz and brightness can reach up to 4,500 nits. The only thing to keep in mind is that curved edges are more exciting. but they’re also prone to accidental touchscreen behavior if you’re not careful.
The OnePlus 12 uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and has up to 16GB of RAM, which is a lot for a smartphone. This means you get incredible power and performance, which is great for multitasking, switching between multiple apps, and even mobile gaming if that’s your thing. The OxygenOS 14 software is also quite intuitive and easy to use.
The OnePlus 12’s triple-lens camera system is also an absolute beast, with a 50MP main camera, a 64MP periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and an impressive 48MP ultra-wide-angle camera. OnePlus has also partnered with Hasselblad for precise color calibration, resulting in improved overall color profiles of images, as well as improved white balance and exposure. If you care about photos on your smartphone, this phone offers fantastic results.
Finally, the OnePlus 12 is a monster in terms of battery and charging. There’s a giant 5,400mAh battery inside, meaning this phone will last about two full days thanks to the power efficiency of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. And once it runs out, charging won’t take long, thanks to wired charging speeds of up to 80W in the US ( 100 W in other countries). It even supports 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging.
If you’re open to Android, then the OnePlus 12 is one of the best iPhone 15 alternatives money can buy.
