So actually, from a productivity perspective, turning off your mobile phone doesn’t do any good. On the other hand, preventive maintenance such as removing excess dust every 6 months will make a significant difference in the lifespan of your unit.

So why should you turn off your mobile phone from time to time?

Because, according to the NSA, it can prevent your cell phone from becoming a victim of malware that installs itself automatically, for example, when you receive a text message, even if you don’t click on the link it likely contains.
