Genmoji is coming to macOS Sequoia 15.3
AI emoji creation now available on Mac
With the release of iOS 18.1, the arrival of Apple Intelligence has finally become official with the first AI services on iPhone. Shortly after, new artificial intelligence features were introduced with iOS 18.2, such as: Image Playground, Genmoji, and Writing Tools. Now the emoji creation system is also available on Mac.
Apple released the first beta version of iOS 18.3 yesterday, which includes improvements to Camera Control and support for robot vacuum cleaners. The company, which also carries the bitten apple logo with this software update, Beta versions of iPadOS 18.3, macOS 15.3 and VisionOS 2.3.
The new macOS 15.3 update will also include GenmojiA feature that allows users to create emojis with text commands to share across other apps.
Genmoji feature will come to Mac with macOS 15.3
The new macOS 15.3 update adds Genmoji for Mac users. This feature is available in the emoji selection panel via a new button that is enabled to generate emojis.
The way Genmoji works is very simple. Users only write a description of the emoji you want to create and as if by magic, Apple Intelligence’s artificial intelligence will be responsible for turning words into emojis. It’s that easy. You can create whatever you want.

Genmoji emojis are created locally. So it’s inside the device. They do not require an internet connection and work on iPhone, iPad and Mac Devices compatible with Apple Intelligence. iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max and iPad and Mac devices with M1 processors or later.
Apart from this, the macOS 15.3 update does not seem to include many changes. The beta version is expected to include some stability improvements and bug fixes. But beyond that, there is no new feature. In any case, Apple still has Continue adding new Apple Intelligence features to Mac, like improvements to Siri and notification summaries. However, this will be postponed until April 2025.
