How to use background sounds on your Mac and why should you use them?
Apple introduced this new feature in macOS Ventura to mask unwanted ambient sound.
The System Settings app in macOS Ventura has drastically changed its design from macOS Monterey to better synergize with iOS and iPadOS. In fact, its name was changed and “System Settings” was replaced with “System Preferences”.
In System Settings, there is a wide variety of tricks, tips and features that help to significantly improve the user experience of the operating system on Mac computers. But there is one new functionality that is particularly noteworthy, we are talking about background sounds.

What are background sounds for and when should I use them?
macOS Ventura’s background sounds are a continuous audio playback system and masking ambient noise not wanted.
These sound effects minimize distractions audio signals in an environment that help users relax, concentrate and/or rest.
They are especially useful with AirPods or other types of headphones connected, and in environments with a lot of ambient noise, such as offices, restaurants or cafes.
How to turn on background sounds in macOS Ventura
If you want to enable background sounds on your Mac, you must have the latest version of the operating system installed, in this case macOS Ventura.
Available in the function section Accessibility System settings. To enable background sounds in macOS Ventura, follow these steps:
one. Open System Settings.
two. Go to the Accessibility section.
3. Enter the Audio section (Hearing).
Four. Enable the Background Sounds feature.
