A Reddit user walking on line A of the New York subway claimed to have caught an employee of Alphabet’s subsidiary with the folding phone Google Pixel Fold. The information has not been confirmed, but it’s common for big tech professionals to test devices during their development.
The images are not very clear and although the person using the smartphone seems to be trying to hide the device, it is possible to see that the dark blue or black thin device is showing a video on its screen. The Google Pixel Fold may have been confused with the Oppo Find N2, which appears to have a similar form factor.
Like New York City, San Francisco, and Chicago, it has Google’s development center with many engineers working on different aspects of devices. Other devices, such as the Pixel 4 and Pixel 3L, have been seen before on the London Underground, on an airplane, and even forgotten in a taxi.
Google Pixel Fold leaks
There is no official information about the Google Pixel Fold yet. However, the device is expected to launch in May, when big tech holds its annual developer conference, Google I/O.
Leaks suggest that the device should cost US$1,800 (over R$9,000) with a 5.79-inch screen when closed and 7.69-inch when open. The dimensions of the unfolded Google Pixel Fold should be 158.7 x 139.7 x 5.7 mm. Rumors suggest that the smartphone will have three cameras and will be turbocharged with an octa-core Tensor G2 processor.
