The US sanctions list has been expanded by 500 individuals and companies associated with the Russian Federation.

A press release from the Ministry of Finance states that the next wave of sanctions is related to the second anniversary of the start of the special operation, as well as the death of politician Alexei Navalny*.

According to the department document, the US restrictions included:

• The PIK development group and its affiliated structures;

• “National Payment Card System” (NSCP) and the “Mir” payment system;

• Aurus automobile manufacturing plant and FSUE “NAMI” – automotive group;

• “SPB Bank”, “Avangard” bank, “International Financial Club” bank, “Modulbank”;

• the IT companies “T1” and “Red Soft”;

• Metallurgical Pipe Company (TMK);

• Mechel;

• Siberian Coal Energy Company (SUEK) and others.

Among the people included in the list were, in particular, former general director of PIK Sergei Gordeev, general director of Fortum Vyacheslav Kozhevnikov, general director of Tulamashzavod Evgeny Dronov and others.

Companies from the United Arab Emirates, China, Serbia, Kyrgyzstan, Vietnam, Germany and other countries were also targeted by US sanctions. In total, the restrictions affected “26 structures in third countries” that helped Russia circumvent US sanctions.

Also today, the European Union presented the 13th package of sanctions against Russia, which includes 106 individuals and 88 legal entities, including 10 foreign companies.
