It’s no secret that the Galaxy S23 Ultra’s cameras are impressive, but it looks like S24Ultra it can outperform its predecessor. Other than the addition of a 200MP sensor, there wasn’t much difference between the camera array on the S22 Ultra and the S23 Ultra. However, a new leak suggests that the S24 Ultra will take a major step in improving camera performance.

In a tweet on insider @Tech_Reve claims that the Galaxy S24 Ultra will drop the S10 Ultra’s 23x and 3x telephoto lenses in favor of a single 3x or 10x fold variable telephoto lens. While the change may seem minor, the resulting difference in what the S24 Ultra can achieve with a set of cameras can be huge.

The S23 Ultra currently uses two lenses to achieve impressive camera zooms. But if that rumor is true, the S24 Ultra will combine two lenses into one folding telephoto lens.

With only a variable telephoto lens on the back of the Galaxy S24 Ultra, Samsung will be able to add another new camera to the array, or even use the space for something else. Obviously, there will still be additional lenses in this space for video capture and the like, but this could be a major design change from the latest versions if the S24 Ultra makes big changes to the rear camera design.
