According to the proposed amendments to the law “Education in the Russian Federation”, the Unified State Examination will be replaced by state exams based on the general education program for admission to universities. Supporters of the initiative argue that the current USE format is ineffective because it does not reflect the actual knowledge level of students.
The LDPR pointed out that the exam is no longer valid as an assessment tool as the number of students reaching the highest possible score of 300 has dropped sharply. If the bill is passed, the new rules will go into effect on January 1, 2024.
