Check Point releases the latest version of Harmony Mobile, anti-virus software that protects business smartphones from malware even before a malicious file reaches a device. Files are first checked for malware via a separate cloud called ThreatCloud.

With the Harmony Mobile download function, it first saves a file to the cloud, and then the file is forwarded to the users. That is, if no malware has been detected through Check Point’s own AI. Also, on Android smartphones, the app can scan all stored files. This function is not available for the iOS version of the app.

According to the company, Harmony Mobile can in some cases scan all files for malware, including ignored file types such as .pdf, .gif, images, and Excel files. Check Point’s own research shows that roughly half of all downloads contain ‘rogue content’. Security expert scans billions of files every week.
