Larger drivers with higher sound quality

New, more minimalist design

One of the most important changes in the Sony WH-1000XM5 is the headphone redesign, something that should have happened without drastic changes between the second and fourth generations.

Now the design does not allow you to fold the headphones towards the headband, and now they lie flat, while the headphones are perpendicular to the headband. This makes them taller but flatter when stored.

The headband has also changed to be more tubular and retain the foam, so wearing them for hours on end isn’t an ordeal.

Sony has also improved the smart features of these headphones. For example, the adaptive sound control mode, which changes the level of noise reduction depending on the situation. For example, at a station, it allows public address announcements to be broadcast.

The Speak-To-Chat feature pauses music and activates passive mode as soon as it detects that you are talking, so you can hear the other person talking when you are talking.

The Sony WH-1000XM5 also includes Google Assistant support by default. Just say “OK Google” to wake the assistant up and perform any action.
