Over there DeLorean is officially back on track. The car that marks the big comeback is called DeLorean Alpha5 and it is fully electric. It’s a tribute to the iconic DMC-5, but at the same time very far removed from it. We face a completely new design, always drawn by ItaldesignGiugiaro’s studio that had already designed the original DeLorean.
The car will be shown live on the occasion of the highly anticipated Pebble Beach festival to be held in August. Then the pre-orders and the entry into production for 2024.
The DeLorean Alpha 5 measures 4,995mm long x 2,044mm wide x 1,370mm high. There are the iconic goalkeeper with seagull wing openingwhile in the cockpit we will find a lot of technology: a few physical buttons and two huge screens, one for the infotainment and the other for the on-board instruments.
Password: aerodynamics. The Cx is only 0.23 The details are still scarce, however: we know that the equipment will be produced in Italy and that the powertrain will be supplied by a British company. We know that the maximum speed is 242 km / h, while the autonomy should be more than 400 km.
The DeLorean Alpha 5 will be a limited edition car, only 88 will be produced (like the miles per hour that must be achieved to travel in time). It’s just the beginning. In the future, DeLorean will also produce a sports coupe with a V8 engine and a hydrogen-powered SUV.
