Microsoft’s latest Windows 11 update fixes an issue with the mobile hotspot feature. An update earlier this month revealed an issue with the internet disconnection on the hotspot host when a client connects.

With the mobile hotspot function, a WiFi, mobile or LAN connection can be shared via WiFi or Bluetooth. Other computers (clients) can use the hotspot host’s internet connection after connecting to the hotspot.

After the June 14 update (KB5014697), hotspot issues were reported. Microsoft’s workaround then: turn the feature off. This new patch (KB5014668) should fix the issue.

This is also the update that definitively renames the ‘Your Phone’ app to ‘Phone Link’ and brings call highlight functionality to all Windows 11 users.
