Well, OpenSea decentralized market which specializes in digital asset trading, i.e. NFT. Founded in late 2017 by Devin Finzer and Alex Atallah, she was born with the idea of becoming the Amazon of this guild.
We recently saw how 254 NFTs worth $1.7 million were made on this platform in just 3 hours, which were stolen from OpenSea in February of this year.
OpenSea was platform for some of the most popular NFTs in the world, such as Everydays: The First 5000 days by Beeple (sold for 61.1 million euros). But it seems that even this does not serve for certainty.
Currently, an employee of your email provider, Customer.io made a serious mistake and user data was leaked. He allegedly downloaded and shared saved email addresses associated with OpenSea accounts and newsletter subscriptions to an unknown third party.
“Please remain vigilant about their email practices and watch out for any attempts to scam OpenSea via email” Corey Hardman, the company’s head of security, wrote.
Yesterday, the company sent out emails to OpenSea users who suspected them of being involved. warning them to be on the lookout for phishing emails and other scams.
Unlike the previous attack described above, there didn’t seem to be reports of any additional damage other than leaked email addresses.
However, the number of people likely affected by the leak is significant. It is noted that 1.8 million users have made purchases through the Ethereum network on OpenSea.according to Dune Analytics.
“We do not believe any other customer data has been compromised, but we are continuing to investigate. The employee in question has had all access removed and has been suspended pending the completion of our investigation.”– explain from the podium.
