Life expectancy in Italy reached 82.4 years in 2021. There are very few who not only exceed this threshold, but also reach the age of one hundred years. At the beginning of 2022, 20,000 were over 100 years old, a record
absolute. So how do you get? centenarians? We need the magic formula that includes physical activity e
eat healthy?

According to a study, health is not enough to live long. Well, the secret seems to be the abundant existence of a gene that prevents cell death, programmed naturally. such a gen it would delay aging making the lucky ones a hundred years old.

This theory is confirmed by a proof. The researchers looked at three groups of volunteers. The first
formed by 88 people between 65 and 80 years old, with parents older than 97 years. The second of 63 centenarians
and the third group of 88 volunteers without centenarian descent.

The study found that the children of children nearly 100 years old were less vulnerable in terms of health. On the other hand, those without such elderly relatives were more vulnerable in health. Also the genes of people around 100 and gods descendants of other centenarians were very similar.

From all this a question arises: there is one genetic predisposition aging well and living more
long? Apparently so, since centenarians and their offspring have more genes than Bcl-xL, which prevents suicide
of cells. When these are damaged, they are programmed to die so as not to harm the organism.
In this way, the cell offers more resistance and the organ in which it is located slows down aging. From
therefore, it retains its functions longer. In short, genes play an essential role in
long-lived in full health.

Genes play an important role. There are people who have led a life that is not healthy at all, but still live to be a hundred years old.
