The Delta Aquarids meteor shower peaks next weekend!

According to information from the Royal Museums Greenwich (United Kingdom), next Saturday (30), the peak of the meteor shower will occur Southern Delta Aquariums, It takes place between 12 July and 23 August each year. The highest point of rain should start around 3:30 am on Friday (29) to Saturday (30).however, meteors may start appearing from 2 o’clock.

Observation can be done with the naked eye, but it’s important to check the weather forecast to ensure good visibility – even in poorly lit places like small towns and more remote areas, observation is better.

Delta Aquarid meteorites are the rocky remains of the earth. Comet 96P MachholzIt was discovered by Donald Machholz in 1986. The observation will make it possible to see 10 to 25 meteors per hour, and due to the new phase of the Moon, the sky will be darker, allowing a better view at night.

Southern Delta Aquariums

The name Delta Aquarids was chosen because the meteor shower’s origin appears close to one of the brightest stars, Delta Aquarii, in the constellation Aquarius. Fortunately for Brazilians, viewing is generally better in the Southern Hemisphere due to the height of the meteor shower during the peak.

For some time, scientists thought the meteor shower was caused by the disintegration of the Marsden and Kracht comets. But researchers now believe Comet 96P/Machholz is responsible for the debris shower.
