In less than 24 hours, the Register of oppositions has already registered more than 205 thousand subscriptions, further proof of the outrage at very high consumer levels towards the telemarketing aggressive.

Dozens of phone calls, every day. And then here’s that when you pick up the phone on the other end of the ‘handset’ you’re greeted by a croaking robotic voice bent on selling you – if all goes well – another gas and electricity contract, or – if it goes wrong – an obvious scam on the trade. It is not surprising that more than 200 thousand Italians took the initiative of the Italian government, hoping to be safe from call center harassment once and for all. But will it be enough? Unfortunately, it is anything but certain.

The data on the first adhesions were provided by: Ministry of Economic Development Today. The ministry limited itself to communicating the adhesions that resulted at 5.30 p.m. yesterday. Since then, the membership has most likely increased and this is just the beginning. The government has yet to start advertising the portal.

Of these 205 thousand subscriptions, 166 thousand come from the website, 34 thousand from the toll-free number and the rest came in via e-mail.

Yesterday, despite great consumer interest, the site prepared by the ministry was slow and difficult to navigate. As we write this news, it looks like the issues have been resolved: now the site works without flooding. If it is still difficult for you to register via the web, we remind you that the easiest and fastest way to register your number is by telephone, by calling toll-free number 06 42986411. After hearing the recorded voice instructions, simply press key 1 and hang up. Nothing easier.
