How to find the coordinates of a place using Google Maps

Sometimes the address isn’t accurate enough, or the place you’re looking for doesn’t have a specific address. When it happens you can use the exact coordinates to find the location.

Google Maps is one of the most popular GPS navigation tools on the market today. You can easily find tourist spots, restaurants and map routes that suit your needs.

This app is the most efficient and accurate way to get them. For example, if we are at home and want to know the coordinates of a place that is not on Google Maps, this is very simple.

Open Google Maps and right-click on a location on the map. The coordinates will appear at the top of the list. You can click on the coordinates to automatically copy them to your clipboard and then paste them to WhatsApp or wherever you want.

On the other hand, imagine that we want to go to a point not located on the map, and we are already, for example, far from home. We can do this from any device, be it iPhone or Android.

To do this, open Google Maps again. Navigate to the location you want to find the coordinates for (you can scroll and zoom with your fingers). Press and hold an unpinned spot on the map and a red pushpin will appear. You will see the coordinates in the search bar. As before, they can be copied and pasted anywhere.

GPS coordinates received from Google Maps may have an offset in the range of 1.5 to 9 meters.depending on the area studied, as reported by Google itself.

Cities will have more images available, and Google will update their city center maps more frequently than rural maps. However, tall buildings and signal interference can cause the GPS location to drift more in more densely populated areas.
