Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health in Boston has released new research. The experiment was conducted on 100,000 people who were followed for 30 years. The impact that thefysical activity moderate and intense on human health. Moderate or intense physical activity may increase the risk of premature death and cardiovascular disease from 19-21%. This percentage could rise to 31% if times of moderate physical activity were doubled from 75-150 minutes per week to 150-300.
When analyzing the results, the team reported the following data. A 31% lower risk for: heart and vascular disease and 15% for non-cardiovascular, among participants with intense physical activity. A 19% lower overall risk of death from these causes. Those who were moderately physically active were 22-25% less likely to die from cardiovascular disease and 19-20% less from non-cardiovascular disease. A 20-21% lower overall risk of death from these dysfunctions.
The potential impact of physical activity on health is large, but it is unclear whether exercising high levels of sustained, vigorous or moderate intensity physical activity above recommended levels has additional benefits or adverse effects on cardiovascular health.
Dong Hoon Lee, lead author of the study
When the exercise times double: 150-300 minutes per week instead of 75-150 minutes, there is still a decrease in mortality. In intense activity (21-23%), in moderate (26-31%). Above this threshold, there were no beneficial effects.
