Have you ever thought about what it would be like to have your hair cut or washed on a space station? In case you were wondering, astronaut Samantha Cristoferetti will show you what it’s like.

Cristoferetti is Italian and the first female European Space Agency (ESA) participant to visit space. Its first flight was in 2014, and it returned in 2015 on a mission called Futura, where it spent 200 days in space.

Cristoferetti is currently on a new mission in space and is sharing some curiosities on social media about what it’s like to live aboard the International Space Station (ISS).

In a short video shared on Twitter, she shows how she gets a haircut and what it’s like to wash her hair on board the space station. He explains that since they don’t have showers there, some things need to be adapted, like using shampoo without rinsing.

Overall, the process is very similar to what we do here on Earth. The shampoo is spread from the root to the entire hair and then the excess liquid is dried with a towel.

No relaxing and long baths. Resources on the ISS are limited and are custom made for that environment. Hot bath and plenty of water, only when they return to Earth.
