Samsung is celebrating with a new Unpacked event where they showcased a plethora of devices. We’ve already been able to touch both the Flip 4 – here I leave you my impressions – and the Fold 4 – and here are their respective impressions – but in addition to the new foldables, we had a couple of wearables.
On the one hand, some of the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, which promise a lot in terms of sound and user experience. On the other hand, the all-new Samsung Galaxy Watch 5, which is a continuation of the family but does not replace one of last year’s models, the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic.

The Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is not a new classic
First of all, I have to tell you that the new wearables were already in my hands. The photos you will see are mine, and what caught my attention about the Pro model is its design.
It has a titanium case, which has a peculiar rim.forming something like a round football stadium, in which the edge is the stands, and the interior, the screen is the panel.
It does not have a mechanical bezel, but a tactile one, and a slightly raised rim, in addition to protecting the screen, allows you to make circular gestures for easier navigation through the menu.
when I spoke to One of the Samsung representatives at the event told me that this Watch 5 Pro will not replace the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. with its mechanical bezel, so that for the moment both will coexist in the market for those who prefer one or the other experience.
Customization options are very high
This Pro model only comes with one screen configuration, 1.4″ Super AMOLED with 450 x 450 resolution which corresponds to the classic 44 millimeters, with sapphire crystal and general protection IP68.
It has an “Always On” mode. and the truth is that although the environment in which we saw the watch was quite dark, so I can’t appreciate the brightness, the resolution is impeccable.
The battery of this model has a capacity of 590 mAh and has fast charging, up to 60% faster than the previous generation.
If we move on to the sensors, then they have the same BioActive that we saw in the Watch 4., but with some improvements as it better combines blood oxygen and heart rate data, providing more accurate measurements. And yes, it also has a skin temperature sensor.
The processor of both is an Exynos W920 clocked at 1.18 GHz, 1.5 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory. The system is WearOS 3.5 with Samsung setup.
Watch 5 is a “classic” active
On the other hand, we have the simple Watch 5 model. This is in line with the Watch 4 line and obviously the Active, with a more compact design and without that extra all-round protection, but keeping the tactile perimeter.
The body is made of aluminum and it will be available in two screen sizes. On the other hand, the 44mm will have a 1.4″ screen with a resolution of 450 x 450 pixels, a Super AMOLED panel and Always on Display mode, and on the other hand, the 40mm is the same but with a 1.2″ panel ” and a resolution of 396 x 396.
The Watch 5 battery supports fast charging, but with capacity 410 mAh for the 44 mm model and about 284 mAh for the 40 mm We want to see how he behaves from day to day.
