If you are one of those who usually read “Computer Today”, you probably know that Tesla Autopilot is involved in many accidents in the United States. Some of them are even fatal.
For this reason, there are several organizations in the US that are taking a closer look at Tesla’s technology in case it is dangerous to citizens, despite reports of calm from Elon Musk’s company. This is not the first time that profits are higher than safety.
Well, Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, said on Twitter that after the widespread launch the latest beta version of Full Self-Driving (FSD), which will increase its price in the US from $12,000 to $15,000.
Following the wide release of FSD Beta 10.69.2, the price of FSD will rise to $15K in North America on September 5th. The current price will be kept for orders placed before September 5 but delivered later.

That will happen on September 5, Musk explained, adding that the current price will be maintained for orders placed before that date. That is, it will be even more expensive to drive a Tesla.
Tesla has been steadily raising the price of its FSD software suite, with the most recent increase from $10,000 to $12,000 in January 2022. At the time, Musk said the price of FSD would continue to rise as the company moved closer to “production code release“.
However, FSD has yet to deliver on Musk’s promise to turn Tesla into a fully autonomous vehicle.. The company began offering FSD as a limited beta in October 2020, expanding it to a wider user base in December 2021.
Large-scale rollout continues to lag due to issues like ghost braking and Tesla car crashes where autopilot slowed progress.
In 2020, Musk explained some of the reasons for the constant price increase, stating that the cost of FSD “likely to exceed $100,000“As soon as the self-driving package gets regulatory approval.
