Elon Musk did not go into details of the event. We have no idea what will be shown on October 31. Could it be another demonstration of the neural implant? It’s now been over a year since Neuralink gave us a macaque intends to play Pong with his wits.
Neuralink has not yet started testing its chip in humans. Elon Musk had already announced in the past that he wants to do this in 2020, but it is clear that the advancement of technology is much slower than initially hoped. As if that wasn’t enough, many Neuralink executives have left the company recently.
Just yesterday, Reuters had reported on Elon Musk’s potential interest in a rival startup, the Synchron, which the billionaire would like to buy to accelerate development of the brain-computer interface because he’s now frustrated with Neuralink’s ongoing delays. An indiscretion, the latest, which has not yet been confirmed.
