Small revolution for the Twitch Streamer: partners are no longer tied to the platform by a limitation of exclusive. It means that content creators can broadcast their live streams on YouTube and Facebook Gaming if they want to.

The streaming simultaneously of the same immediate remains forbidden from the policy. Content creators will therefore have to switch between platforms and cannot be live on multiple sites at the same time.

The move removes one of the main restrictions aimed at content creators, but it is suspected that this is not a change for the better. According to some rumors, confirmed by the leak of an internal company document, Twitch is said to be about to withdraw the proceeds from the donations.

Today, several streamers receive 70% of what their viewers donate, while the remaining 30% is eaten by Twitch Fees. The company could increase the commissions to 50%: for every euro that comes in, fifty cents go to Amazon.

For most streamers, the ability to broadcast live on YouTube or Facebook will in no way cover the lost revenue that such a change would entail. Also because streamers will also be able to work on YouTube and Facebook, but the days will continue to have 24 hours. After three or more hours of live streaming on Twitch, it’s unimaginable that the content creator has the strength and will to broadcast even on a rival platform.
