How to Create a Personalized Signature for Your Gmail Emails

Customizing our signature is something that can be very necessary to make our emails look more obvious.

These signatures will include our name, but may include other important information such as our title, phone number, email address, and even a company logo.

But don’t think that this is a process that is not complicated in the least, although we can consider it something long due to the steps we will have to take until we get the best possible signature.

There is no doubt that this can be an important part of the emails we send, not only because of the information that we will communicate to the other person, but also because of the visual appearance that the end of messages will have, because if it does not have a signature, this afternoon it seems like something is missing from the post in question.

We must remember that Google allows the limitation 10,000 characters where you can add text, images and hyperlinks to our signatures. In addition, we can also set up signatures to come out automatically, or we can put them in every email, something interesting if we have several different types of signatures and for different occasions.

Create a signature using Gmail on a computer

If we want to create a signature with a computer, we can of course do so with a few format options that we like.

The steps we have to follow are the following:

  • Open a browser and log into your Gmail account.
  • Now go to the top right corner and do click on the gear icon to open Gmail settings.
  • Press View all settings.
  • We scroll down and Signature sectionwe press the button Create.
  • we put name to sign and press the button Create.
  • We write the text of your signature in the field and you can change the text format, font, text size, text color, background, alignment, etc.
  • Also we can place hyperlinks, for example, to our social networks if we want, or images.

  • At this point, if we want to automatically set up our signature in all outgoing emails, we must go to the section Default signaturewhich is just below where we entered and created our new signature.
  • At this point, we select the new caption we generated to put in the dropdowns For new emails as in option For replies/forwarding.
  • Finally, we go to the very bottom of the page and click on the button Save Changes.

If we haven’t set up the automatic mode in what signatures are because we have several of them and each one goes to a type of person, we can insert the signature manually into every email we send.

We can get it easily:

  • We click on + icon to create a new email message.
  • Enter the recipient’s email address and a draft in your email.
  • Click on the symbol insert signature (It looks like a pen and is at the bottom of the email compose window.)

  • then we choose a signature what we want from the list of options.
  • The signature should now appear in the compose box of the email we wrote to send.

Create a signature in Gmail on a mobile device

On mobile devices, you can also create a signature in the Gmail app.

The only difference is that we won’t have as many formatting options as in the desktop version. Therefore, we must take this into account, since if we want a more complex signature, we already know that it is best to go to PC.

In any case, to create it on mobile, we must do the following:

  • Launching the Gmail app on our iPhone or Android device.
  • Go to the top left corner and tap the button three horizontal lines to open the menu bar.
  • Scroll down. until we reach the end of the page and touch the option Settings.
  • We choose an account to which we want to add a caption.
  • Now let’s touch the option mobile signatures
  • We write what we want to put our signature in the window that appears.
  • To save changes, we simply click on the back arrow located in the upper left corner of the screen.

How can we change the signature?

Perhaps some information has changed about what our signature is, that we want to update the logo, that our networks are different, or something else. Well, you don’t need to make a new signature, since you can edit the existing one.

To do this, we do the following:

  • We open a web browser and log into our Gmail account.
  • Go to the top right corner and click on the symbol Settings (gear).
  • We select the button View all settings.
  • We scroll down and click on the signature we want to edit.
  • It is at this point that we make changes to the format that we deem necessary. If we want to edit the signature name we do click the Edit icon next to the company name.
  • Finally, we scroll down to the bottom and click the button Save Changes.

If for any reason we want to completely remove the signature from your Gmail settings, we click on the trash can icon next to the company name. A pop-up window will appear asking for our confirmation, after which we must click on the button Delete and thereby confirm that we want to get rid of this signature.

As you may have read, creating your own Gmail signature is a lot easier than you might think, although you do need to take a few steps to finally get the one you want to see in the emails you reply to or send.

For any comment, doubt or opinion, you already know that our social networks are open to you and whatever you have to tell us.
