The launch of the new iPhone 14 caused a rush to grab the old models, with the result that, instead of going down, the second hand price has risen considerably. Still not a good time to buy one iPhone 13 hoping for a good chance.

Just remember that to get your hands on an iPhone 13 Pro you’ll still need to spend at least $1,000, while on eBay — buying from other users — it’s hard to go below $850. Absolutely challenging prices, when you consider that the new iPhone 14 has now been available since last month and that, with a slightly better technical data sheet, they should, at least in theory, have greater consumer appeal.

Moreover, this phenomenon is practically non-existent within the Android market, where the price of smartphones generally collapses vertically in the hours immediately after the announcement of the new models.

According to a study by CounterPoint Survey, the price of second-hand iPhone 13s (including refurbished) has risen by an average of 11%. The announcement of the new iPhone 14 boosted demand for the older models, thanks to many users hoping to make the long-dreamed move from Android to iOS at an affordable price. The increases concern, without distinction, both the entry-level models (iPhone 13 and 13 Mini) and the high-end models (iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max).

According to a study by CounterPoint Research, the price of a second-hand iPhone 13 (including refurbished) has increased by an average of 11%

Strangely enough, this attack on the second-hand market does not seem to have cannibalized sales of the new iPhone 14s, which seem to be doing very well. It is yet another proof of how the demand for Apple’s smartphones is very high and has remained constant over the years.
