It expected Nothing Phone (1) it has no more secrets, or almost. The data sheet complete with Carl Pei’s corporate smartphone. It will be a mid-range smartphone.
The Nothing Phone (1) will be presented this summer, it is the first smartphone of the new company from Carl Peic, which was already a co-founder of OnePlus. The strong point will be the patented Nothing OS interface, which promises an ‘essential’ Android experience, without unnecessary burdens and frills. The launcher beta is already available for download. It will probably also have a peculiar design, but for now the appearance of the phone is still a mystery.
Different story for the datasheet, which was revealed by leaker Raghvendra Singh Jadon. Apparently, the Nothing Phone (1) will have a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. The SoC should be one Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G accompanied by 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. We then find a 4,500 mAh battery with support for wireless charging. We don’t know the technology and charging speed.
The camera has a 50MP main sensor, flanked by 8MP ultra-wide angle, 2MP macro and 32MP selfie camera.
Was anything more expected? Absolutely yes, even if a fundamental part is determined by the price. Let’s be clear: today the most recent flagships mount the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, which will be replaced by the 8 Gen 1 ‘Plus’ in a few months. The 778G is a rather dated solution and falls short of the best solutions currently on the market. Same story for the refresh rate, which has now reached 120Hz on all top of the range. With these specifications, the Nothing Phone (1) will inevitably have to place itself in the middle price range of the market.
