HDTVTest managed to increase the refresh rate of Samsung’s 65-inch qd-oled television to 144 Hz in 4k resolution. This is noteworthy, as the manufacturer officially supports 4k at 120 Hz. After a series of tests, the YouTube channel concludes that the S95B is the world’s first OLED TV to offer this combination of refresh rate and resolution (unofficially).

Currently, 144 Hz works in conjunction with an Nvidia GPU, but video cards of the red team are not excluded. To increase the refresh rate, you must first enable Input Signal Plus in the TV menu by selecting Connection > External Device Manager > Input Signal Plus > HDMI port to which the PC is connected. Also, it is recommended to select Graphics-picture mode and enable game mode.

Then you can create custom refresh rate in Nvidia control panel: Display > Change resolution > select 3,840 x 2,160 and click Create custom resolution > enter 144 Hz refresh rate > CVT reduced blank (under Default) > select Test. The screen then turns black for a moment and the system indicates whether the settings have been accepted.

The UFO Frame Skip test shows that the S95B does not skip frames at 144 Hz.

Samsung’s qd-oled TVs are now on sale. The suggested retail price of the 65-inch model of the S95B is 3,399 euros, while the 55-inch variant changes hands at 2,499 euros.
