Late last month, Moore’s Law is Dead announced that AMD’s MI300 accelerators will offer various combinations of chipsets. Thanks to the modular structure with 3D stacking, the manufacturer will be able to offer any solution optimized for specific tasks. Meanwhile, AdoredTV shared more information about one of these designs: It would be a variant that functions as a large apu.
For example, in an alleged internal slide, AMD refers to the MI300 as a first-generation Instinct APU, where Zen 4 cores are combined with a CDNA 3-based gpu and hbm memory addressed by both components. The slide also reveals a snapshot of this solution, reminiscent of the photos MLID shared earlier.
Videocardz made a comparison between images from MLID and AdoredTV.
As for the development process, it is said that all designs will be tape-released “by the end of the month”, with AdoredTV referring to February or March 2022. The first chips are expected to be delivered in the third quarter. . tested, release date not yet known.
