Tesla returns to reduce the price of both Model 3 and Model Y. The company announced a major price cut earlier in the year, but the company, led by Elon Musk, wanted to take things a step further, especially with the standard Model 3 variant now priced below €40,000.
In particular, Tesla Model 3 with standard autonomy. Its cost has decreased from 46,200 euros to 39,990 euros. – almost 6,000 euro difference–. Some figures from which we would have to deduct, in addition, the assistance from the government’s MOVES plan, which range between 4,500 euros and 7,000 euros. Including them, the price to pay for the standard Standalone Model 3 will range from €32,990 to €35,490. Numbers that leave out the bulk of rivals whose EVs are more expensive or not in the same category as this Model 3.
The brand has also cut prices on other versions of the Model 3. The Great Autonomy variant now costs €49,990, about €2,500 less than before.. Meanwhile, the Performance version costs between €59,990 and €53,990, a savings of around €6,000. In the latter case, the reduction has a secondary advantage: the Performance version is now subject to the MOVES plan, as it falls below the €45,000, including VAT, which the Spanish government sets as the limit for benefiting from these benefits.
In parallel Tesla also cut the price of the Tesla Model Y.. The standard version is now on sale for 45,990 euros, about 1,300 euros less than before. The Great Autonomy version remains unchanged, while the Performance variant costs between 63,990 and 59,990 euros.
Updated prices | Standard | Excellent autonomy | performance |
---|---|---|---|
Tesla Model 3 | 39 990 euros | 49 990 euros | 53 990 euros |
Tesla Model Y | 45 990 euros | 53 400 euros | 59 990 euros |
Tesla is leaving its competitors on the sidelines with this Model 3 and Model Y cutback.
The new price of Tesla Model 3 with standard autonomy puts its main rivals in a difficult position. Other all-electric variants such as Volskwagen ID.3, Hyundai IONIQ 5, Kia EV6 or Mustang Mach-E, exceed, to a greater or lesser extent, the €40,000 barrier that Tesla just crossed with the Model 3. The only one currently in the lower range is the MG4, although it is a lower range car than the Tesla.
Therefore, this price drop leaves the brand led by Elon Musk in a very advantageous position in the short and even medium term. They have a compelling product in terms of behavior and benefits – even outperforming some of their competitors – and on top of that, they’re selling it at a price that’s unbeatable at the moment.
However, it is important to remember that In recent months, there have been rumors about the imminent restyling models 3so the next question inevitably arises: Will this current pricing structure continue when said update is launched?
