Minisforum rounded off its minicomputer range with the Neptune series, where the vision is provided by a discrete GPU rather than an integrated solution. The manufacturer says that with the HX90G, the team offers the first compact system with a red graphics card, as the Radeon RX 6650M is under the hood. Thanks to the use of a 260W adapter, the GPU should be fully loaded without loss of performance.
The volume of the enclosure is 2.8 liters. Due to the combination of liquid metal, seven heat pipes and two fans, the gpu and cpu temperatures need to be kept under control. In the case of the HX90G, the RX 6650M is paired with the Ryzen 9 5900HX, but Minisforum points to variants with the Ryzen 9 6900HX and Intel Alder Lake-based CPU.
In terms of expansion options, there are two sodimm slots for up to 64GB DDR4 memory. In addition, there are two m.2 slots with the bulk 2280 format for SSDs and a 2230 slot for WiFi. In terms of connectivity, there are two 3.5mm audio connections on the front followed by a single USB type-a and type-c port. On the back, there are another three type-A connectors and a 2.5Gb Ethernet port, along with two display ports and two more HDMI, finally.
The manufacturer did not share any information regarding price or availability at the time of writing.
