As regards fake account According to an analysis by SparkToro and Followerwonk, about 23.42% of Elon Musk on Twitter consists of spam or bot accounts. Elon Musk is the eighth person with the most followers on the social network, and also for this reason, the research of the two analytics companies could give us a more accurate litmus test about the true number of active users on Twitter.

The matter is important: It is precisely because of these doubts that Elon Musk announced that he had paused the takeover of Twitter. Twitter claims that the fake or bot account represent only 5% of the total. If true, it would be a perfectly healthy social network. But is it really so?

Elon Musk disputed this estimate and asked to submit the data for an independent analysis. The social network does not seem to please him.

SparkToro and Followerwonk they use 17 different parameters to determine whether an account is real or not. According to their research, nearly one in five of Musk’s followers is fake. For the record, you get very similar numbers if you analyze the followers of many other popular accounts, such as that of US President Joe Biden.

The figure becomes even more dramatic when not only the fake users are counted, but also those inactive Ghost accounts that have not been used for at least 90 days. In fact, fake and inactive accounts are said to represent 70.23% of Elon Musk’s total followers. Perhaps Elon Musk is right in asking Twitter for clarification.
