Accidentally swallowed AirPod, which (surprisingly) survives pretty well in the stomach

AirPods work in the least expected places!

Moe Kennedy had surgery to remove AirPod

How does AirPod get into the user’s stomach? There are several ways. But at least a few users have experienced this. Of course, it was easier for some to get rid of them than for others. The last statement of this case was shared by the protagonist. He was taken to the emergency room after swallowing one of the headphones.

On June 14 of this year, Moe Kennedy fell asleep while wearing his AirPods. A few hours later, The woman immediately woke up and realized she had swallowed one of her AirPods.. She immediately tried to vomit, but when she failed, she decided to go to the nearest emergency room with her mother.

For AirPod in emergencies

When he was taken to the emergency room of Covington Medical Center, Kenned underwent relevant tests. AirPods Pro confirmed still working during medical checkup. Kennedy’s mother was able to connect with them and hear her daughter’s stomach sounds and laughter.

After taking a CT scan, you may see: The AirPod quickly found its way deep into Kennedy’s stomach and became stuck in a compromising position.. There were concerns that if not treated promptly the problem might persist or require a more invasive surgical procedure.

Kennedy was eventually transported by ambulance to another hospital, where he underwent an emergency endoscopy that took nearly nine hours to remove the device from his stomach. The intervention was successfully carried out, as Kennedy demonstrates on his TikTok account:

In a statement to AppleInsider, Kennedy said:

Overall, I 100% recommend the AirPods Pro, but I don’t 1000% recommend eating them… I’m happy to be completely fine and laugh that I accidentally tested the pros’ ability to withstand stomach acid. I found it lasted at least up to 9 hours.

In February 2021, a Massachusetts man swallowed one of his AirPods after it fell out of his ear while he was sleeping. Like Kennedy, he had surgery to remove the device. And thankfully he recovered without any problems.

Although swallowing an AirPod is not a very common situation, it is not impossible either. Therefore, if you listen to your favorite music or programs before going to sleep, perhaps listening to it through speakers is a better way to avoid a similar situation. Of course, it is not worth mixing these with vitamins.
