Apple had a very good start to the year in terms of sales. We’ve told you before that the company dominates the computer and tablet market alongside its success in Apple subscriptions. One important market was missing: the wireless headphone market.

Apple dominates this segment of the market thanks to its flagship products: Airpods. It also seems that wireless technology is very successful with Airpods Pro and Airpods Pro Max.

Apple dominates the wireless headphone market

Canalyz showed on Twitter datas Wireless headphone sales in the first quarter of the year. The data shows that a solid Apple, with 32% of the current market (an increase of 14% compared to the last quarter of 2021), is the company that dominates this technological segment.

Although the products that made Apple grow so much have not been mentioned yet, Canalys states that this is due to the huge success of Airpods, the first two generations to be exact. Also, the Pro and Max segment has become an ideal option for high-range users.

Samsung and Xiaomi rank second and third with only 16% of the market and a net drop in sales between the two companies, respectively, far from Apple. It seems that neither the Galaxy Buds nor the Mi True Wireless have been as successful as believed despite a lower starting price.

The most surprising news from the Canalys report is as follows: Skullcandy’s big boost in terms of sales. The company, which specializes in sound, increased its sales by more than 50% and ranked 4th in the world with a 5% market share.

Apple’s wireless earbuds may also be taking advantage of the iPhone 13’s sales success, as Airpods are one of the few products that are 100% compatible with Apple mobile phones.
