At the end of May, Asus announced the arrival of the latest ROG Strix series laptops in Colombia: the G16, G18 and its predecessor, the Scar 18.

These new PCs come with outstanding performance, distinguished by integrating Intel’s most powerful processor for laptops, the new 24-core Intel Core i9-13980HX and the latest Nvidia GeForce RTX 40 Series graphics.

The flagship of the series, ROG Strix Scar 18, features an 18-inch ROG Nebula Display with a 240Hz refresh rate, WQHD (2560×2400 pixels) resolution and 16:10 aspect ratio. Its brightness is 500 nits and covers 100 percent of the DCI-P3 cinema-grade color gamut.

As for its GPU, it has Nvidia’s most powerful option: the RTX 4090. This graphics card has 9728 Cuda cores and 16GB of VRAM. By comparison, it outperforms the leading 30 series model, the RTX 3080 TI, by using DLSS at maximum settings in games like Flight Simulator.

Games like Cyberpunk reach 156 FPS at maximum settings and without DLSS; Ark Survival Evolved at 133 FPS and GTA 5 at 130 FPS.

To accompany such a powerful processor and graphics, ROG Strix Scar 18 includes 32GB of 4,800MHz DDR5 RAM expandable up to 64GB. The storage has two 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSDs for a total of 2TB. Expandable up to 4TB.

The body of this computer is made of polycarbonate and aluminum and has RGB lighting in different areas. It is a solid 3.1 kg laptop measuring 35 X 26 X 30 cm.

It has two USB type A 3.2 generation 2 ports, one type C 3.2 generation 2 and one type C Thunderbolt 4. It has HDMI 2.1 output, Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6E. Its battery is 90Wh and it has a 330W charger that can be charged to 50 percent in 30 minutes.

This titan features Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos (surround sound), four speakers and a full-size, professional-grade eSports keyboard.

The recommended price for this computer is 20,999,000 pesos. It includes a ROG Gladius III “gaming mouse”, a case, and an additional 100W USB-C charger.
