Oral-B launched Oral-B iO, an electric toothbrush with artificial intelligence, in Colombia. After six years of research, this electric toothbrush promises a deeper and more gentle clean than manual toothbrushes, based on today’s fashionable technology.
Oral-B iO stands out with its smart pressure sensor that directs the user to apply the appropriate pressure while brushing. In addition, micro vibration technology and the oscillation and rotation movement of the head allow detailed cleaning of each tooth.
An important feature is its connection to a mobile application. This app uses artificial intelligence to provide detailed guidance while brushing, show areas covered, and record details of each session.
According to Oral-B Brand Director Mauricio Pardo, this device not only improves brushing technique but also overall oral health. By storing toothbrushing information, the app “allows for monitoring progress in the technique and facilitates communication between dentist and patient.”
Pardo also emphasizes this: The brush has various brushing modes to suit individual needs, such as sensitivity or whitening. He also states that they plan to launch heads with different bristle types to offer more personalized options in the future.
Oral-B iO is available in supermarkets and pharmacies in Colombia. In terms of prices, iO6 ranges from 800,000 to 900,000 pesos, while iO4 ranges from 500,000 to 600,000 pesos. Pardo emphasizes that although the brush does not detect diseases, it is an important protective tool for oral health and recommends visiting the dentist regularly.
In terms of durability, An electric toothbrush can last more than five years. On the other hand, as with manual toothbrushes, it is recommended to replace the heads every three months at most. He also states that the device is easy to carry, comes with a travel bag, charger and four heads, allowing the device to be used for a year.
Finally, Pardo states that the Colombian market is slowly starting to adopt electric toothbrushes and predicts that their use will increase significantly in the coming years.
