On Tuesday night, February 13, EL TIEMPO learned for the first time the opinion of the Forensic Medicine regarding the causes of the death of child Dilan Santiago CastroThe 2-year-old boy whose lifeless body was found in the village of Curubital, in the rural area of the town of Usme, south of Bogota.

Forensic Medicine sources stated the following to this newspaper: The child’s death was classified as murder and occurred due to mechanical asphyxiation.

According to sources, Autopsy revealed that the child was a victim of sexual abuse. Out of respect for the child and his family, this newspaper refrains from disclosing further details of the autopsy.
The investigation is now being conducted on the grounds of a murder, and litigation has been opened to new factors and statements.

One of the lines includes verifying through the timeline the location where the minor’s body was found, as the authorities (Army, Police and fire brigades) reiterated in the reports that the place was “swept” and the body was not found. This shows that the scene was staged.

Dilan’s lifeless body was found on Saturday, February 10, and his mother reported him missing on Tuesday, February 6.

The boy’s mother, Derly Yulieth, told the Bogotá section of this newspaper that the day was normal and that they were doing their daily business, so she did not understand how the disappearance happened.
“I left him in the kitchen for a while and went and got some wood, put some clothes in the soap, it took five minutes, when I came back the boy was no longer there.“said the 19-year-old woman who came to Bogota to escape the ill-treatment of the underage child’s father.
