There are approximately 7,000 million voice memos that audio users produce daily. What’s up?, as revealed by the same instant messaging system. So each of the app’s 2,200 million users sends 3.18 days of audio.

Some argue that it is easier to communicate in this way, only using this tool, while others say that they do not like to receive voices.

Jo Bryant is a British woman who specializes in etiquette, and using this tool she provides a number of tips for improving the quality of speech while increasing the comfort of the recipient of voice messages.

1. Consider the duration: it is better not to overwhelm the recipient of voice memos. Therefore, the recommended length of a sound is between 1 and 2 minutes, but if the duration exceeds the recommended duration, there is always the option to play at different speeds, and this has been installed in one of the latest WhatsApp updates.

2. Split the message: If what is said is too long, it is better to divide the content into sections. In this way, the order and time of replying to the message is left to the preference of the recipient. It can also provide greater clarity and order in answering questions, especially when they are many.

3. Hear from the right place: Playing at full volume in a public place can annoy people around you, and the sent message may contain private or sensitive content. Therefore, it is recommended to listen to the audio at low volume, or alternatively, put the mobile phone to your ear as if you are on a phone call, this way the app message will play at low volume automatically.

4. Ask a few questions by voice: In this way, the person you are talking to will be able to respond in turn, reducing the chance of any problem remaining unsolved.

5. Response: A two-way conversation is best, so if they do send you a voicemail, try to respond using the same method as long as you’re comfortable and have the opportunity to do so.
