United States Department of Immigration and Customs Enforcement Announced that Application and Removal Operations (ERO) has begun limited testing of a monitoring device GPS.

The device is a watch and is part of efforts to provide additional technology in the Alternatives to Detention (ATD) suite of options.

Firstly, the project will be tested with a deployment in Denver to analyze feasibility in an operational environment.

Technology provides location tracking GPS, facial recognition and messaging functions as well. Additionally, it benefits from technology similar to a consumer smartwatch, but cannot be used for any function other than compliance with immigration-related activities.
