Carmen and Lupita Andrade have much more than just a brotherly bond: Since birth, they share a pelvis, reproductive system, liver, and blood flow.

Born in Mexico, these conjoined twins came to the United States in 2002 with their parents, hoping to undergo separation surgery, which was not performed at that time or later.

Lupita, the less extrovert of the two, said in dialogue with “Today,” “If we had had separation surgery, one of us would have died, we’d both have died, or we’d have been in intensive care and never been able to go out.”

Their genetic condition has caused them to face many challenges throughout their lives. For example, walking was one of the first. Finding coordination and balance with one leg (each) was a huge challenge that they managed to overcome over time.

Now they travel by plane, go to the movies, attend concerts, and even exercise at the gym. Carmen is studying at university to become a veterinary nurse, and Lupita hopes to work in the same field as a technician.

As much as they can, both young women try to lead a normal life, even if they are in love. Receiving many messages from men with fetishes, Carmen met her boyfriend Daniel on a dating app in 2020.

Although social anxiety played tricks on her, she was able to forge a solid relationship with Daniel, with whom she hoped to get engaged and moved in in the future, as she canceled her plans at the last minute. According to her, the relationship is not a problem for her twin.

“It’s funny because I stay up later than Lupita, but when Daniel goes to sleep, I fall asleep right away and he keeps talking to her,” Carmen told the psychic.

In order to have a healthy relationship, Carmen tries to get along with Lupita, who has declared herself asexual. One of these arrangements involves letting him choose some of the plans he will carry out as a couple.

Even if they wanted to have children, neither Lupita nor Carmen could get pregnant because they had endometriosis. and they have a hormone blocker that prevents them from menstruating.

With over 3 million followers on TikTok, Lupita y Carmen has caused a sensation. They create trends on the social network with short videos, share them with their followers and reveal the details of what it’s like to be with a person 24 hours a day. His purpose in showing himself in such a natural and candid way is to normalize his condition.

When they were just girls, there was no shortage of teasing (because their age was making them childish) and they are now 22. While they are very open about their routines, deals, and intimacy, they often set limits and have to deal with criticism and intrusion from fans.

“We’ve gotten bad reviews. A lot of people aren’t used to people with disabilities setting limits. We get a lot of questions about sex, how we go to the bathroom, and the like. But you should remember: we’re not just conjoined twins, we’re human,” Carmen said.

Even though conjoined twins share the same clothes, they try to add different touches to their looks with the color of the glasses frame, haircut, accessories and piercings. Therefore, it is not difficult to detect them in the images they upload to social networks.
